Will Leach
Founder / Big Brain
After 17 years of consumer insights experience in the CPG, Biotechnology and Energy Industries, Will saw an opportunity to blend his passion consumer insights with his expertise in behavioral science based design. TriggerPoint is the result of that passion.
Outside of TriggerPoint, Will enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son. He has also completed three Iron Man events, so it’s best not to challenge him to a foot race.
Before starting TriggerPoint, Will headed BrainJuicer Behavioral Labs & PepsiCo's Shopper Marketing & Retail Testing laboratory where he consulted on Behavioral Research & Design Solutions.
In 2011, Will won the IIR Explor Award for his ground breaking use of behavioral research and design to non-consciously drive cross-purchaes at PepsiCo.

Chris Bohlin
Director / Graphic Architect
For 15 years, Chris has made your mouth water. His experience has seen him create successful campaigns for Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, Frito Lay and more. Chris has also employed behavioral design in the development on many new brands.
The father of twins, Chris is passionate about his family and the outdoors. He’s the kind of guy that drives a Jeep and don’t get him started about Crossfit.

Padmini Sharma
CEO Jester & Genius
Padmini Sharma is a Brand Strategist & Consumer Insights pro with a passion for creating strong consumer-brand relationships through authentic brand stories. Before founding Jester&Genius LLC, Padmini spent 7 action-packed years at PepsiCo/Frito-Lay, working on positioning, turnaround and innovation strategies for iconic brands such as Cheetos, Tostitos, Ruffles, Lay’s and SunChips as well several portfolio strategies.
Prior to that, she did a 2-year stint as a Brand Planner at a Philadelphia ad agency.Padmini is the co-author of ‘Brand Humanity: Transforming the business of building brands’, a chapter in ‘Consumer-Brand Relationships: Theory & Practice’,
In 2009, she won the Advertising Research Foundation’s prestigious Grand Ogilvy award that honors best-in-class use of consumer insights to create powerful and profitable campaigns.
Melanie Leach
Founder / Innovator

For nearly 20 years, Melanie has been translating consumer needs into actionable implications for strategic planning, new products and marketing communications. Basically, she made you all crave stuff.
Melanie most recently worked at PepsiCo in the Strategic Insights group and over the course of her tenure led innovation strategy & insights for power-house brands Doritos & Lay’s.
Like Will, she enjoys spending time with her family and young son. Which works out well since Will and Melanie are married. She also enjoys running & working on her latest book.
In 2006, Melanie won the AMA Explor Award for advancing virtual shopping at PepsiCo. so she's a pro at developing the latest research innovations for TriggerPoint

John Balz
Behavioral Scientist
Ben has spent most of his life playing with words. He has written print, radio, TV and promotions for some of the world’s largest brands across a variety of categories.
When he’s not writing, he spends his time writing. Ben has written several best-selling novels and short stories make light of everything from parenting to the apocalypse.
So, yes, it may look like he’s staring at a wall with a blank look on his face, but he assures us that there is something going on back there.
He has some awards and a family as well, but he’s probably just going to talk about his books.
John Balz is a behavioral science change agent known through-out the industry for applying the principles and lessons of behavioral economics and psychology to solve behavioral change problems. John was introduced to behavioral science when he served as the lead researcher on the New York Times best-selling book Nudge by behavioral economist Richard Thaler and law professor Cass Sunstein. Nudge provides a blueprint for applying behavioral science principles to the field of public policy.
Since Nudge, John has served as a Vice President at the social impact think-tank ideas42, a Senior Strategic Planner on financial services and health care accounts at the advertising agency FCB.
He holds a B.S. in political science from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Chicago.
